Description
Mantanani Islands 美人鱼岛 is a group of three isolated islands located northwest of Kota Belud, about an hour’s drive from the state capital of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu. These islands are approximately 60 minutes boat-ride by speedboat from the mainland (depends on sea condition). The islands boast of crystal clear blue waters filled with a myriad of marine life and white sandy beaches fringed by coconut palm trees making it an excellent destination for snorkeling, scuba diving or island hopping. Kawa Kawa, located at 112km northeast of Kota Kinabalu, is accessible in an hour and a half by land. Situated at Kota Belud and surrounded by paddy fields and mangrove forests, the quaint little village of Kawa Kawa is enchanting at first sight. Sungai Tempasuk thrives along Kawa Kawa’s mangrove habitat forming an enticing playground for the Proboscis Monkeys, who swing on the high branches of the trees. This natural oasis, little touched by men and commercial tourism, has not lost its primitive wilderness, and is best suited for nature and wildlife lovers.

07:00 - Hotel to Jetty
Pick up from your hotel in Kota Kinabalu city.
09:00 - Arrived to Jetty
After arriving at the jetty, first go to the bathroom to change clothes, follow by the tour guide will explain the safety of the boat.
10:00 - Onboard to Island
Your journey will takes approximately about 45 minutes (Subject to Sea Condition)

Arrive to the Crystal Clear Water Mantanani Island & prepare for Snorkeling activities. There will be 2 Snorkeling points. Each point takes 20 – 30 minutes, Subject to Weather conditions. If the weather is not allowed, our Boat Captain & Tour Guide will have the Rights to cancel the snorkeling activities for the safety of each person.

- Minimum 4 adults to go (Grouping with others travelers) are required to book this tour. If total number of group travelers do not match the minimum requirement for this trip, the tour will be cancel or to change date and you will received a notification e-mail 7 days prior departure.

Outskirt hotels pick up & drop off surcharge
- Additional charges of MYR 30.00 per pax per way are chargeable for outskirt hotels pick-ups. Outskirt charges applicable for hotels outside of Kota Kinabalu city area. Outskirt pick up will be 2 hours earlier (Subject to available)
- Kota Kinabalu Outskirt Hotels, like Putatan town, Beringgis Beach Resort, Langkah Syabas, Szhnn Vacation Apartment, or places that not in the same route will have to take Grab or Taxi to town area to wait as the route are different.
Responsibilities guidelines
- In the case of schedule changes or cancellation due to traffic, weather or other force majeure, Travel Operator have the right to alter routes, timetables, itineraries and accommodation reserved should conditions beyond our control render it necessary.
- In the case of bad weather, strong wind & waves, during a Snorkeling session, Travel Operator have the right to cancel it for the safety of each guest. Please be advised, there will be no refund.
- Patients of following diseases are RESTRICTED to participate the adventure tour: hypertension, heart disease, asthma, epilepsy, pregnant woman
- Sit-In-Coach basis (SIC). This tour is not a private tour, you will share the trip with other guests who come from different countries.
- Request Private Charter 6 – 10 Seater Vehicle, additional MYR300.00/vehicle. Kindly inform us before the tour commences.
- Kindly apologize if pick up time is late due to festival or peak season or each Hotel guest's preparation.
- Please wait at the lobby 10 minutes before pick up time while the tour guide will find you when he/she arrives.
- We are following “On-time Policy” to be considerate with other guests. Transportation will not wait for late arrivals at the 2ndconfirmed Pick-Up Time schedule given. No refund will be compensated.
- Be a responsible snorkeler / diver to protect our marine ecosystem.
- If we deem your diving / snorkeling skills or attitude may bring harm to marine life or other guests, the crew has the right to stop you from participating in this activity.
- It is strictly prohibited to remove, pick up, step on, or destroy any marine life during the trip.
- Do not snorkel or dive separately from the group and follow the crew’s instructions. Failure to do so will result in the crew stopping you from participating in the activity and no refunds will be made.
- You will be responsible for obtaining your own visas to enter Sabah.
- Participants refrain from touching and teasing turtles, marine life and coral reefs. Anyone refraining will sit out the next snorkeling.
- While the jellyfish season varies, it usually occurs during mid of the year or/and end of the year. Do be extra careful and inform our guides should you be stung. Jelly bugs are common in the waters but they are usually harmless and their stings will just cause some slight itch.
- Customers are encouraged to purchase their own travel insurance before traveling to Borneo. We recommend you to select a travel insurance policy that covers not only your medical expenses (including emergency repatriation) but also personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage. Doing so can prevent major disruptions and additional costs. We strongly encourage our customers to choose packages wisely, prioritize your safety first as life is priceless.

Cancellation & Amendment Policies
- Free cancellation 7 days before the tour commence.
- Less than 7 days or no show, full 100% charges.
- Any cancellation within 24 hours from the tour date is regarded as "Last Minute Cancellation" or "No Show" will be 100% chargeable.
- Amendment to booking after payment has been made is subject to approval and will be charge at a minimum of MYR150 per service amendment.
